Chelsea Golin and Faith Karumba ( In ) Experiences of Transfer Students and the Effects on Student Engagement Transfer students often have a hard time adjusting to new institutions because of barriers such as credit transfers , adjusting to culture , and meeting financial requirements . These challenges often create isolation , loneliness , and disconnection , making it difficult to create friendships , a sense of belonging , and feel able to engage in on-campus activities . It can eventually affect academic outcomes and result in a poorly rated college experience . This crosssectional study will use focus groups to explore potential barriers to student engagement in transfer students in public health and education majors in a private Catholic university .
Amy Millheim Campus Community Gardens and Well-being : A qualitative study on the influence campus community gardens have on students ’ well-being Community gardens are green spaces that increase access to fresh , healthy food , improve physical and mental health , and provide social benefits . Access to these spaces is limited , which makes individuals vulnerable to stressors and affects their well-being . College requires students to adjust and manage many stressors , including academics , relationships , and health . Many individuals in this life stage experience changes such as increased stress and mental health issues . Access to green spaces can positively impact students ’ well-being and ability to adapt to the stressors associated with college . This study aimed to understand the influence a campus community garden has on the well-being of students .
Ijahnae Robinson ( P ) Students of Identity-Based Clubs Perceptions of Efforts and Strategies by Faculty to Create an Inclusive Classroom Inclusivity ensures all individuals feel respected , valued & included , regardless of their background , identity , or differences . Creating an inclusive environment requires a commitment to continuous learning , reflection , and action to dismantle barriers and create an equitable and welcoming environment . Learning environments not seen as inclusive can result in mental health concerns , poor academic outcomes , and a decreased sense of belonging and desire to become involved in campus life . This cross-sectional survey study will explore how students in identity-based clubs at a private Catholic university perceive the efforts and strategies implemented by faculty to create an inclusive learning environment .
