Optional Icebreaker
5 – 15 min
Section Aim
To take more time to break the ice and build a relationship with participants early on in the course .
Instructions
Pick an additional icebreaker that will suit your group , room size etc . Below are some ideas plus a link to an icebreaker ideas website , if you are looking for more suggestions .
Similarity Split the group into smaller groups and then ask each group to come up with 3 things they all have in common that are not physical ( i . e . they all have ears – that would be too easy ). You could give some suggestions , for example birth month , place they live , music interests , food , etc . Give them 2 minutes to come up with three things . Once they have done this ask the groups to feedback .
Mix and Match Ask the group to stand up and find at least :
• 2 other people with the same eye colour as them .
• 1 other person who has a birthday in the same month as them .
• 2 other people who are virtually the same height as them .
• Anyone who is wearing a watch .
• 3 other people who have at least one letter the same in their first and last name

GOING DEEPER
Group Rules
5 – 10 min
Section Aim
To set boundaries and rules for the group so everyone feels safe .
Instructions
This is an opportunity to set some ground rules to help to make sure that everyone is able to enjoy and participate in 10:10 . You are welcome to use the suggested list below or create your own . It is best if participants are involved in creating the rules . If you do use the list below you could give the group the choice to add or remove any . If you already have group rules in place this would be a good opportunity to revisit them and remind the group of what they are .
