To understand the difference between happiness and sadness . To know that we can ’ t be happy all the time , and when we are feeling down it is good to ask for help .
Instructions
Select the discussion activity suited to the age group you are working with . Explore with your group the different emotions we can feel , highlighting the difference between happiness and sadness and the fact that we can ’ t be happy all the time . Encourage them to find someone to talk to if they are ever feeling sad and help them think who they could talk to as well .

You could start this activity by replaying the Twist Film and / or ask the children to pull a series of faces : a happy face , sad face , grumpy face , excited face , worried face . Using the slide and / or the Emoji picture on the Memory Stick , explore some of the questions then talk about happiness and sadness using the script .
