01 — Finding Happiness
Closer Look • Mix It Up
5 – 10 min
Section Aim
To think about ways we can make happiness last longer .
Instructions
Play a game of ‘ would you rather ’. Ask the group to answer the following questions by moving to one side of the room or the other . You could get them to move to different sides of the room with their answer . Afterwards show the series of PowerPoints on screen and / or use the suggested object lesson ideas and ask everyone to think about the questions to go with each . You could cover the ‘ objects ’ or have them hidden in bin liners and reveal one at a time . For the younger ones you may like to focus on just one object lesson .
Activity
Would you rather be able to talk with animals or speak all foreign languages ? Would you rather win the lottery or live twice as long ? Would you rather be a kid your whole life or an adult your whole life ? Would you rather be the most popular person at school or the smartest ? Would you rather have an unlimited gift certificate to a restaurant or a clothing store ? Would you rather sing instead of talk or dance instead of walk ? Would you rather be covered in fur or scales ? Would you rather travel 100 years into the past or 100 years into the future ? Would you rather be too hot or too cold ? Would you rather give up the internet for a year or give up sugar for a year ?
