The annual AAA / APM Invitation Fly-in is held each September over Labor Day Weekend, and is a“ by-the-members-for-the-members” convention and reunion. This year marks the 73rd event and will be from Sept. 2-6. For more information on the airfield, museum and fly-in, visit https:// antiqueairfield. com.
Halloween Hikes
Join Pioneer Ridge Nature Center for a fun and educational outdoor experience around Halloween. The hikes feature volunteers dressed in costumes to educate children about the natural world around them. There is a different theme each year. A lighted path leads hikers from actor to actor at the nature center south of Ottumwa. Hot chocolate, snacks and games are traditionally hosted indoors after the hike. Children can also go trunk-or-treating through the campground after the hike. For 2026, the hikes are Oct. 16-17. For more information or instructions on how to make reservations, visit conservation. wapellocounty. org.
