‘ Eggs’ Po Easter Extravaganza

This event, presented by the Wapello County Expo Board and Southeast Iowa JBS Sports Center, with assistance from other community partners, was new to 2026. The event was held April 4 at the sports center, and featured Easter egg hunts for kids ages 0-4, 5-8 and 9-12, as well as a sensory-friendly Easter egg hunt. A Kiwanis pancake breakfast and pictures with the Easter bunny also are a part of the festivities. The event figures to be an annual event around Easter.

Camping Treasure Hunt

This event, hosted by the Appanoose County Conservation Board, is held in late April to kick off camping season. The treasure hunt is held at the Lelah Bradley Campground in Centerville, and lasts an entire weekend; the 2026 edition was held April 24-26. The treasure hunt begins on the Saturday as treasure maps and rules will be explained to attendees. There is a fee to camp, and a two-night minimum stay is required to participate.
