100 Bars: Was Battling Scripts your first time battling a east coast battler? B magic: The scripts battle I wrote that at work on my lunch break. No Lie. A couple battles I wrote at work. Did you feel some kind of accomplishment getting recognized by URL?
B magic: Yep......QP first proving grounds.. And actually I knew who URL was but I ain’t care bout the shit. I didn’t really care about battle rap too much, I was just doing it for promo to get my music out. But one thing about it they called me after my SK battle. That’s after 3 battles and I wasn’t even serious then. But they was like “Yo, You mad nice son!”(does New York Accent) I was like “OK”.... It was Ms. Gracie From Chicago that actually discovered me and she called Norbes about me And Norbes got a hold of me. Gracie actually set up the first proving ground. 100 Bars: Would you consider that battle With QP a classic?? B magic: Yep. Of Course. And at that time niggas wasn’t even having classics. When me and QP dropped it was the best battle out.
100 Bars: Next you had John John the Don on URL proving grounds how did it feel to be the first to get the multiple choice scheme? B magic: Yea I was the first multiple choicer. I didn’t make a choice though. I ain’t even write for John John. I gave him the bars I had for brixx. Me and brixx didn’t go down and they gave me John John with 3 days to write for it. If I wrote for John John it would have been a totally different battle. 100 Bars: Then the rematch With V.I. Who would you say won the first battle or this battle? B magic: In the first battle V.I was more experienced than me. He already had like damn near 10 battles under his belt. V.I is a battler rapper . He been a battle rapping before he been battle rapping. Me personally I ain’t never trip over battle rapping. I been in cyphers
