An independent retailer is someone who is responsible for their own business. They are independant as they will have built the business and have expanded from that initial starting point. Independant retailers are completely responsible for their own business. They own or have bought an independent store and has built the business from the ground up by assessing all of the stores needs, which can include staffing, marketing, merchandizing, sales, etc.
Department Store-
A department store is large store stocking many varieties of goods and services in different departments, they provide a range of products under one roof for customers. These stores are located in prime locations in both in-town and out-of-town locations. They retail online and are very competivie with rival department stores. Within department stores, the store plan is divided into different departments, with each department containing various brand concessions. Department store don''t produce their own products directly; they buy in stock from branded concessions and sell them on behalf their behalf. These concessions are already established , reputable, brands.

Multi-channeling Retailing-
Multichannel retailing is when a company provides several ways for customers to purchase the goods and services that they have on offer. This marketing strategy could include selling through traditional outlets such as catalogs, brick-and-mortar stores, mail, and telephone as well as through more modern outlets such as online stores or retailers personal smartphone apps. Multi-channel retailing allows retailers to expands their customer basis everytime they add another channel; the more types of chanelling they have on offer, the more customers they can reach.
