In a spiritual sense we, as we pray like Hezekiah did, are considered of the same merit as he.
God did not answer Hezekiah’s prayer simply because he was the king; he just happened to be
a good king committed to the cause and the values of God.
I love the picture today that this paints in my mind of God dealing with our enemy, Satan, as
He did with the enemy of Hezekiah. Sennacherib is a very good picture of Satan. I love it even
more when I read in verse 27 where God, through the prophet Isaiah, says to Sennacherib, “I
know where you stay…” This was no idle threat of God, but it was one that God acted upon as
per the story above. I know this may sound somewhat colloquial, but that’s ok. If Satan is our
enemy, as Sennacherib was Hezekiah’s, the same words that God spoke to Sennacherib He
would speak to Satan today,“Do not lay your hand upon my children, or the Norwegian
Settlers Church, because I know where you stay.”
How amazing it is that we as God’s children, who live a Hezekiah type lifestyle, would be
considered to be the apple of His eye. How amazing to realise that God would rise to our
defence as He did with Hezekiah to deal with those enemies that come against us. We can,
today, people, stand with confidence to know that God i ?????????????????????????)?????????????????????????Q?????????????????????????????????()A????Q???????]???e??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????e?)????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????)!?????????????!???????]????????????????????????????????????????????????????)???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????)???????????????????????????????????????????()M????)I??????????L??)e?????????????????????e??????????!??????e???????$?????????????????????????)???????????????????????????????%???????????????????????????????!??????e?)???????????????????????????????]?????????!????????????????????????????????((0
