Introduction
Hi Folks
Living the Gospel in Life is an eight part sermon series on the gospel and how
to live it out in all of life—first in our hearts, then in community, and ultimately
out into the world. It is directly compiled and edited by Debbie Snyman from
the “Gospel in Life” series written by Tim Keller.
This devotional is in depth and challenging. It prepares you with amazing
background and content that will link to the weekly sermon preached at
Norwegian Settlers Church that is still to follow. In other words the devotion is
in advance of the sermon.
The sermon series opens with the theme of the city, our home now, the world
that is. The last sermon will close the series with the theme of the eternal city,
our heavenly home, the world that is to come.
In between we will look at how the gospel changes our hearts (Sermon 2 and
3), changes our community (Sermon 4 and 5), and changes how we live in the
world (Sermon 6 and 7).
At the end of each devotion are a couple of questions, this is called the
CHALLENGE POINT. It is easy to read good material but hard to apply it to
daily life. Grapple with the CHALLENGE POINT and think about ways to OBEY
God's Word.
Obedience to God's Word is our expression of love to God.
May God, through His Word and the conviction of the Holy Spirit, produce in
each of us a radical obedience to LIVING THE GOSPEL IN LIFE.
