COLLABORATION IS BEHIND OUR EVERY DESIGN
In today ’ s fast-paced , rapidly changing
world , HGA — a multidisciplinary design firm rooted in architecture and engineering — understands how to create purposeful designs that make an impact . Three of the firm ’ s senior leaders , Courtney McLeod-Golden , Beth Young and Heather Kampa , all share a commitment to deliver exceptional client service , are fueled by an ongoing desire to learn , and believe that collaboration and great teamwork is what allows HGA to deliver extraordinary results .
“ We approach our work from a place of empathy ,” says McLeod-Golden . “ We are a highly driven , client-service oriented team that benefits from thinking outside the box and care deeply about aligning original designs with our clients ’ needs .”
McLeod-Golden leads the firm ’ s regional arts , community and education practice , while Young and Kampa champion the public and corporate market sectors , respectively , for HGA . While the three principals work with different clients , they meet frequently to strategize , collaborate and support one another ’ s projects . Kampa says that the resources available at HGA gives its team a competitive advantage . “ We are a local office with national resources at
our fingertips ,” says Kampa . “ No matter the project or the task , we are always equipped to do our best work .”
Young describes HGA ’ s culture as innovative and creative but also describes the environment as homey . She is especially proud of the firm ’ s ongoing commitment to gender and racial equity work . As Young explains , “ HGA is proactive about applying an equity lens to every aspect of our business , and you can feel that in our culture . From the projects we pursue to attracting and rewarding talent , we always strive for equal representation .”
The close-knit HGA team had to quickly pivot when the pandemic hit and shift to working remotely . McLeod- Golden credits their successful ability to quickly adapt because of the teams ’ strong camaraderie and high baseline of trust from working together . Adding to this sentiment is Young and Kampa who both say HGA has been intentional about keeping employees connected . “ Our team has never been stronger ,” Kampa says .
