MEET THE WOMEN SERVING AS PLACER COUNTY SUPERVISORS
Bonnie Gore ’ s District 1 includes
the city of Roseville , one of
Placer County ’ s main economic drivers and one of the fastest growing communities in the Capital Region . Gore values balancing housing growth with job growth , open space , parks , recreation and retail . “ I ’ ve enjoyed working with council members in surrounding jurisdictions and look forward to serving this year as the chair of the Sacramento Area Council of Governments , which includes a record number of new female board members ,” she says . Among Gore ’ s most immediate concerns is providing support to residents and businesses during and after the COVID-19 pandemic .
Suzanne Jones ’ District 4 , encompassing East Roseville and Granite Bay , offers some of Placer County ’ s most significant economic activity , abundant outdoor recreation and desirable quality of life . Backed by many years on the county ’ s board of education , Jones ran for supervisor , encouraged by residents . “ I have long demonstrated commitment
to serve my community and am proud to represent my district ,” she says . Currently a state bar association member and appointed member of the Appellate Mediation Program , Third Appellate District , she ’ s determined to help Placer County navigate an approach to pandemic recovery that considers the well-being of small businesses .
Cindy Gustafson ’ s District 5 spans from historic Auburn to Lake Tahoe and boasts great natural treasures . A longtime public servant , Gustafson has served on local , state and nonprofit boards and is passionate about government serving its residents proactively and transparently . She says Placer County has many amazing women leading agencies , businesses and nonprofits and is honored to join Gore and Jones on the board that , for the first time in its 170 years , is majority female . She says , “ Along with our two male counterparts , our county is in very capable hands .”
