Scouse accent is an accent and
dialect spoken in Liverpool. Being
the port city, Liverpool received a
lot of influence from the Welsh
and the Irish, which gives Scouse
accent a ‘sing song’ quality. Some
vowel sounds are different from
Standard English, such as ‘come’
pronounced ‘com’, or ‘shut’
pronounced as a short ‘shoot’.
