The NHS is a topic that divides opinions. Thus, it is often at the center
of UK political debates. Since it involves every British person,
campaigns for elections, Scotland independence referendum and
Brexit, in one way or another, mentioned the NHS to persuade voters.
Newspapers reported ‘The NHS in
crisis’: with budget cuts, people
complain that there are now not
enough doctors, not enough hospital
beds and much longer waiting time,
even for emergency patients.
People protested on the street against the
government’s potential plan to privatise
the NHS, which, it claims, would make
the services more efficient and improve
the working condition of healthcare staff.
