The NHS
The NHS (National Health
Service) is a public health
service for people living in
the UK.
Established after the WWII,
the NHS was part of the
social welfare policy that
aimed to make medical
care free and accessible to
everyone.
However, with fast-growing
population, NHS demands
a huge amount of the
government’s funding. This
makes some British start to
question if the idea of NHS
is still applicable in modern
Britain where there is a
high rate of unemployment
and an influx of immigrants.
