Anglo-Indian curries, like Chicken Tikka Masala and Korma, are often
ranked as the nation’s favourites. Especially in a takeaway business,
traditional British food must compete with Indian, Chinese, Turkish and
American fast food. This results in the number of chippies coming down
from 35,000 shops in 1929 to only 10,000 in 2009 (Walton, 2009). With
the change in the British’s eating behaviour, some people are worried that
British food, as well as the British way of life, is slowly disappearing.
