Britain is a rainy island. On the average, it rains one in three days in the UK (BBC, 2018). This climate can influence how people live, what they wear and even what they eat. For example, in the south, the weather is warmer than the rest of the country. Especially in the south east, where London is, there are light rainfalls in summers, so the weather seems to be unpredictable most of the time. This is the origin of the stereotype of a Brit always carrying an umbrella, or constantly talking about the weather. Also, because it can change very quickly, many Brits prefer to wear layers, instead of thick clothes in order that they can adjust themselves easily when the day gets warm. http://www.bbc.co.uk/schools/gcsebitesize/geography/weather_climate/climate_rev4.shtml
