Mattia will be 21 years of age when he takes to the WorldSBK tracks, but as is the way with many talented young riders, he has already raced several types of machines at a high level. WorldSBK will be a big step up for the young Italian, even if he has already ridden inside the paddock for the team Rosso e Nero squad in last season. He swaps that R6 four-cylinder Yamaha for another in 2026, as he takes on the challenge of the R1. His very recent WorldSSP, Moto2 and even SuperMotoS1 experiences should help him get used to something new. He arrives in WorldSBK as a threetime Italian Supersport Championship race winner.

SAM LOWES
Despite being a former British Supersport Champion and 2013’ s WorldSSP champion( with Yamaha), Sam Lowes spent most of his international career in the MotoGP paddock. Several strong Moto2 seasons sandwiched a single MotoGP year, until 2024, when Sam and his current ELF Marc VDS Ducati squad joined the WorldSBK paddock. It was a tough debut in WorldSBK, but 2025, with some team tweaks and more consistency, saw Sam take five podiums and a pole position. A new bike from Ducati for him, as well as his many fellow V4-R riders.
