Dakota County Regional ( DCR ) Chamber of Commerce is the influential Regional voice that champions promotion and improvement of the business environment , cultivating vibrant regional and local communities . We are the voice of business , non-profit , and community partners throughout Dakota County on county and state-wide public policy initiatives including transit / transportation opportunities , affordable housing , and workforce development . Your Chamber is committed to business for you and will be an influential and effective regional organization and a catalyst for growth in your community .
The Dakota County Regional Chamber of Commerce is your advocate for Dakota County businesses through effective public policy . We serve on a variety of economic growth initiatives and issue-based coalitions for a variety of areas , including transit and transportation , business retention and workforce housing . In 2021 The DCR Chamber will be continuing its work on the Transit Network Opportunities recommendations as well working with our member businesses on recovery through the COVID-19 pandemic .
The Chamber ’ s Board of Directors represents the largest private sector of employers in the region as well as a balanced mix of small business interests from throughout Dakota County . Their expertise provides for a robust , best-practices approach to business development and growth for the region .
We offer multiple opportunities each year for members to engage with other business professionals and expand their client base . These include Coffee Breaks , monthly membership meetings ( Critical Issues ), Business After Hours , Public Affairs breakfasts , and multiple special events .
Aiding members in their business and employee ’ s growth is the foundation of the curriculum learning presented at our Business Support Series .
We had over 270 women register for the 2020 WomEn ’ s Conference , with keynote speaker Annie Mehan and 3 breakout sessions on topics relevant and important to success for women executives . This event engaged , educated , and empowered professionals of all levels . Six scholarships to graduating female high school students were awarded for continuing education .
Dakota County enjoys a robust and vibrant business climate . The workforce is highly educated and diverse . Each business community in the Dakota County Regional ( DCR ) Chamber marketplace is unique and prosperous . We have communities that are considered inner-ring suburbs , second-ring suburbs , green field development areas , and even main streets under redevelopment .
