The
Customer Experience
Until the other week I hadn't experienced Chanel's customer service to a first hand degree, so I was extremely pleased last Saturday when I was welcomed into their Covent Garden store by smiling store members.
Aesthetically their store was superb - with the glossy black angular fixtures and huge glowing Chanel logo it was a perfect combination to please the eye. It must be a difficult store to keep clean especially with all the fingerprints so I was pleased that it looked beautifully polished even during the lunchtime rush.
They really made the most of the little 1,437 square feet given to them in the Market Building. They showed as many colours and types of make up and accessories elegantly without over crowding their displays. Even though the shop was small there must have been six members of staff ready to assist you. Upon arrival I was given time to enter the store I find my desired area to browse before I was asked if I needed any help.
After an unfortunate night out I'd lost my favourite deep purple lipstick and I wished to replace it however the Chanel store staff weren't to know this. Could they work out what I desired and persuade me to make a purchase?
I had been pleased with the service I had received so far, so I was delighted when a sales assistant saw me looking at the lipstick and almost immediately asked if I wanted to try a colour on.
I explained that I'd like a purple shade but I wasn't so sure what would suit me, following on from this she picked a few shades out for me. She spent time looking at my skin, eye and hair colouring to ensure she picked the best colours - it was nice to know she cared about doing her job properly and making sure her customers are satisfied and well looked after.
She sat me on a chair and cleverly complimented the shape of my lips. She also ensured that I wasn't allergic to any skin care products before she began applying the lipstick. I was really pleased with the way that she applied the lipstick and she also used a lip liner to maximise the effect - this would work well for her add on sales.
After a little think I decided to purchase both the lipstick and lip liner which she'd previously explained the prices of so it wasn't a surprise at the checkout. Before packing them both up she showed me that they were both the correct colour and perfectly brand-new. Future events at the store were explained along with a sample of their new matt lipstick range before I left.
I most certainly left feeling extremely happy with the service I received and the products I'd purchased. I will be shopping with Chanel again - hopefully one day to purchase a handbag!
