WESCAREHUNGER
At Sargent Park School we have an ME To WE Group and every Halloween we have a campaign called We Scare Hunger. In this campaign we collect can goods and donate it to Winnipeg Harvest.
We get the can goods from the students who goes to our Halloween Dance and instead of paying $2.00 they can pay $1.00 and a canned good.
But the junior high students and ME To WE group members take it to another level!
Before the night of Halloween, we put small cards inside our community's mail box saying that Sargent Park kids will be asking for can goods at Halloween Night and if they are willing to donate.
So instead of asking for candy for ourselves we ask for canned goods!
I could say that the campaign was a success because of the amount of people who participated and devoted their Halloween night to collect can goods for people who need it!
