Anpanman is a Japanese cartoon character that was first shown in a book series but was later adapted into an animated cartoon series in 1988. Created by Takashi Yanase, his beloved character was a red bean bread hero who was the world’s weakest hero. Unlike Ironman and other traditional superheroes, Anpanman had no superpowers, yet he still believed that he could be a hero and help others. Anpanman would go around town and feed people bread, which he is made of, though he was slowly hurting himself, he kept doing it.

Just like Anpanman, BTS aspires to be like him because of his self-confidence. The song's message is to show others that you do not need power or strength but bravery and kindness to be a hero. Anpanman would always stay by people's side, even if it means being moral support, it has value. BTS show their honesty by admitting that they do not have everything, rather than making excuses for why they  can not. When someone is brought up in a situation and cannot afford or obtain something they want, they will make up excuses as if they did not even want it in the first place just to make sure their pride is not compromised.

 [Verse 2: Suga]

(English  translation)

I’m  not a superhero

Don’t expect a lot

I can be you r hero

I'm  really not  sure whether that even makes  sense

In these lines, Suga talks about having a case of imposter syndrome. Imposter syndrome is a psychological pattern in which one feels less capable or doubts their ability to do something. Imposter syndrome usually occurs when someone goes through a big transition in their lives. In their lives,  especially  if they get a promotion or a new job. Due to such a significant difference  in that person's life, they may feel inferior to others around them and lose self-confidence. This may result in fear of being  called a  fraud and a non-acknowledgement of their own accomplishments.
