Before the throne, your father was a respectable, honest, disciplined, and loving man who was head-over-heels in love with your mother. When he inherited the throne, things changed drastically. He became insane. He exiled your poor mother to the desert to die alone, but knowing that, she saved you, begging me to look after you, my sweet child. And the necklace you are wearing is your mother’s amulet. Your mother enchanted it to protect you from bad spirits. That’s why your father let go of you after he grabbed you.

Selene was overwhelmed with the news. Now she realized that she had to do something. One thing she knew for sure was that she had inherited not only her mother’s appearance but also her justice and freedom-wanting heart. She knew it wasn’t her father’s fault for becoming insane overpower, he just needed someone to help him. And that’s what she did.

Although it was incredibly painful for Selene to endure this disturbing truth, she nevertheless couldn’t be deprived of the sweet, heart-warming episodes of her childhood. Was it her father—the one who had such a substantial influence on his daughter—who was now treating his close ones inhumanely, irrespective of his real feelings? Was it her thoughtful, caring dad, who once fell head over heels for her mother, who was now a destructive accomplice to evil? Despite this disillusionment, Selene was more determined than immersed in suffering. Her combative spirit was stronger as opposed to the compassionate one. Now that she took the plunge to break the existing stigma around the ongoing crimes, she suddenly turned into a great warrior.

Thus, Selene decided to fight her father using all the strength that she had, despite the fear of him. However, she knew that she needed someone else to have her back, to help and protect her. Someone who she would trust with her heart and life. And such an individual was undoubtedly Artemis. He was the one and only person in the whole world who wouldn’t betray her in any circumstances; Selene remembered how he always treated her well and how he had never given her a cold shoulder. He was always there for her, just like now. Artemis promised her that he would protect her life and trade her life for his if it were needed.
