Eels launch 2015 Campaign
A lot of the Eels’ success will depend on how halves Corey Norman and Chris Sandow perform this year.
Sandow had his best year in blue and gold in 2014, nabbing Parramatta’s players’ player award whilst Norman did struggle for a lot of the year in trying to fit in with the side.
The former Bronco did however, have a strong 2015 Nines campaign, showing a soft pair of hands, clean set of heels and a deceptive left foot step.
Whilst the loss of Hayne will be felt heavily, it opens up an opportunity for coach Brad Arthur to change his approach to the game plan.
Without a player such as Hayne waiting for the ball in the back-line, Arthur can better use the Eels’ fringe forwards such as Tepai Moeroa and Manu Ma’u to create havoc out-wide.
Parramatta will enter with a unique style of attack that will aim to make best use of their speed and mobility to break through out-wide and not get into a wrestle in the middle of the field.
Eels fans are quietly confident of achieving a finals berth in 2015. So strap yourselves into the 2015 Blue and Gold rollercoaster.
