Introduction

This chapter presents data on the professional qualifications of education leaders and teachers within the OECS Member States. The chapter also captures data on the age range of leaders and teachers and the number of years of service they have served. Data is analyzed along different indicators to include the professional qualifications of leaders and teachers by education level and sex.

 

The chapter also analyzes data per member state to include the number of leaders and

teachers by ten-year age groups and sex that gives a snapshot of the age range of the leaders and teachers still serving so as to plan for age gaps in the system. Another area that is also analyzed per member state in this chapter, is the number of leaders and teachers by years of service and sex. This data gives a picture of the number of years of

experience that the leaders and teachers within the system have and it also guides decision making for recruiting others.

 

Teacher qualifications are also captured in this chapter by other indicators such as leaders and teachers engaged in continuous professional development and leaders and teachers with a degree in educational leadership, administration or management by education level and sex.
