Percentage of children (0-2 years) accessing Early Childhood Education

The OECS region averaged 20 percent which may be due to parental preferences not to institutionalizing children between the ages of 0 - 2 years.  The GPI is 1.03 which indicates higher percentages of girls than boys accessing pre-primary education.

 

Net Enrolment in Early Childhood Education - 3 - 4 years

The OECS total for the net enrolment in early childhood education for students 3 - 4 years is 62.9 percent.  The GPI is 0.97 which indicates a higher percentage of boys than girls accessing pre-primary education.

 

Child-Caregiver Ratio - Early Childhood Education

On average in the OECS total for Child-Caregiver Ratio is 17 children to 1 care giver.  This is based on data provided by Dominica, Saint Lucia and Saint Vincent & the Grenadines. Further information is required in order to undertake further investigation and draw additional conclusions.
