This summer, 5th graders throughout EWCSD enjoyed a trip to Camp Arbolado through EWCSD’s partnership with the YMCA. A total of 90 students attended camp over a span of two sessions in July.
Attendees of Camp Arbolado had the opportunity to engage in a series of outdoor activities that ranged from rope climbing to obstacle courses, and even kayaking. Through each of these camp activities, students collaborated with their peers, built new friendships, and fostered team building skills.
EWCSD also received positive feedback from the Camp Arbolado opportunity. In a survey of attendees and parents, 95% of participants rated their experience with Camp Arbolado “Great” or “Good.”
East Whittier City School District is committed to providing well-rounded enrichment experiences through initiatives like these, where students have the opportunity to meet new friends and build skills outside the classroom.
