FOREWORD

We remain acutely aware of the challenges posed by climate change, health crises, and other global disruptions. However, these challenges only serve to emphasize the necessity of timely and accurate data. Education data not only validates the resources allocated to this critical sector but also ensures that these resources are deployed effectively to achieve meaningful impacts.

I commend the Education Development Management Unit (EDMU) and the Member States for their collaborative efforts to strengthen capacity and embrace innovative solutions. Initiatives such as the integration of Education Management Information Systems (EMIS), the development of monitoring and evaluation platforms, and targeted training for education planners and statisticians are evidence of the region’s commitment to excellence in education data management.

This publication reflects the dedication of educators, statisticians, and policymakers across the OECS who have contributed to its success. The Commission extends its gratitude to all our partners, including UNICEF, for their unwavering support in the compilation and dissemination of the Digest. Together, we will continue to drive progress and build a future where education data underpins impactful decision-making, fostering economic and social advancement for the region.
