PLAIN AND SIMPLE Bright Business Insights
Vol . 7 | Issue 1 | Spring 2022
Dear Readers ,
As I write this , our busy season has just come to a close . While there may have been some apprehension leading up to it , I think most of us here at Rea would agree that it was good to get back to a “ normal ” tax deadline this year after the extended deadlines in 2020 and 2021 . We were able to pull together and collaborate across our different offices throughout our East Central Region like never before . This forced us to rely on some of the internal processes that we had worked on and put into place over the past couple of years that really hadn ’ t been put to the test yet under “ normal ” circumstances . Fortunately , they held up well overall and at the end of the day it was good to see how they would perform under stress and where there might be improvement opportunities and places to get better . ( There ’ s nothing like a little stress to put your processes to the test !) We strive to operate with a spirit of continuous improvement and are always looking to be more efficient so we can provide greater value for our clients .
Reflecting on our previous issue of Plain & Simple , a lot of the issues people were dealing with last Fall still remain true , including labor shortages and supply chain issues . Only now we ’ ve also added inflation that hasn ’ t been seen in years , rising fuel and energy prices , and general uncertainty around global security and the global economy . If the last few years have taught us anything , it ’ s that in difficult and uncertain times we must lean on each other and work together . We encourage you to reach out to your trusted advisors and peer group when issues arise or if you just need the support of a listening ear . We consider it an honor to serve in that role for many of you and take that responsibility very seriously .
Now that our busy season is behind us , we are really looking forward to spending time with our families and connecting with our clients again to see what has been going on in their businesses . In closing , we hope that you ’ ve had a good start to the year like we have and want to remind everyone , as always , to reach out if they ever need anything . Thank you !
