The best part of this school year was being able to participate in my favorite elective with my friends: orchestra. I loved learning new music, competing against other schools and taking fun trips. My favorite moment of the year was performing with band at UIL. The experience, love, joy and pride of performing comes as soon as you step on the field for competition. There is nothing else like it. This school year, I began a new journey at North Garland and was a little saddened to not be at my old campus. That quickly faded as students I had cared for from sixtheighth grade came up to me and greeted me with smiles. Mandarin Chinese Language & Leadership magnet teacher, Weaver Elementary School William Arango Lead custodian, Keeley Elementary School My favorite moments during this first year of our program include when students were able to read math problems in Mandarin and when they competed in the North Texas Chinese Speech Contest, where they did a wonderful job. My favorite memory of the year was meeting our new principals, Spencer Hughes and Sherri Taylor. We were excited at the start of school and are happy they embraced our community. It has been an incredible transition. connected
