STEAMposium delivers jam-packed fun, learning
Hundreds of students, parents, GISD employees and community members gathered to celebrate innovation at the second-annual STEAMposium. Interactive exhibits, student showcases and enlightening seminars enthralled visitors at the Curtis Culwell Center this April.
A culmination of yearlong efforts, STEAMletes’ engineering challenges, VEX Robotics skills, Maker Creator inventions and science fair projects were on display. Coding and chess contests, the Dallas Stars Hockey Scholar course, bubble soccer and a
gaming truck were also featured.
Given at the end of the day, awards included teacher grants, student scholarships and competition winners. The overall honor and STEAMly Cup went to Area 7. Through a communal effort, Armstrong, Abbett, Back, Liberty Grove and Sewell elementary schools, as well as Hudson Middle School, Memorial Pathway
Academy, Pathfinder Achievement Center and Sachse High School, snagged the traveling trophy. For a full list of awards, scan the QR code.
