tained most of it’s missionary fervor. Unfortunately, the Ko-
rean Church in North America has also lost most of it’s 2nd
and 1.5 generation members. The talk, thought, and theology
of missions is always on the front of the EM leadership’s (in
particular, PJ, the EM Pastor) hearts. However, if we cannot
maintain the 2nd and 1.5 (and now many 3rd) generation
believers, how will we continue to send missions overseas
when we can’t even evangelize our youth and young adults?
FKBC Raleigh is a very special place.
My relationship with the Sr. Pastor (Rev. Don Choi) is a very
unique and blessed one. It’s almost like a father/son relation-
ship at times. I respect the man and his leadership greatly. He
has a huge heart for missions and Korean immigrants, while
not forgetting about the 2nd generation. In many ways, the
dynamic with which we serve is a picture of 1st and 2nd
generation trying to live and grow together, rather than (what
happens in most cases) the 2nd generation moving out (due
to conflict or feeling like they just can’t grow/mature under
the KM) or just losing all of it’s members. It’s amazing what
has happened at this church. The KM continues to serve the
Korean Immigrant community and support overseas mis-
sionaries, while the EM now serves the children and youth
