간증 - 영어캠프
하나님께서 저들에게 사랑을 베푸사 구원하여 주시고 그들의 인생에 열매가 있기를 기도한다.
3.죄를 버리고 하나님을 알다
이것은 영어 캠프선교와 직접적 관련이 없는 개인적 생각이지만 기간 중 내내 죄를 버리는 일을 생각했다(
요15:2). 하나님께서 어떻게 은혜의 자유를 주셨는지 그리고 내가 어떻게 은혜의 자유가운데 살아가야 하
는지에 대하여 점점 이해하게 되었다. 나는 교만의 죄 또는 하나님과 완전하고 영속적인 교제 보다는 대인
관계에서 내 만족만 추구하는 죄 등. 내 삶에서 끊임없이 짓는 죄를 끊게 해 달라고 하나님께 구함으로서 하
나님과 더욱 가까워졌다.
나는 먼저 죄를 끊는 일이 온전하신 하나님을 더욱 잘 알 수 있게 하는데 도움이 된다고 생각한다. 하나님의
거룩하심, 영광, 공의, 정의, 선하심, 신실하심, 온전하심, 기쁨, 정결하심 등등 하나님은 너무나 크고 광대하
시다. 따라서 하나님은 우리가 그분의 몇 가지 성품만 보고 금방 알아차릴 수 있는 분이 아니다. 나는 한국교
회의 구세대를 바라볼 때 그들은 한국전쟁과 국가 발전의 여러 어려운 시절에도 모든 것을 예비하신 하나님
께 소망을 두고 신실하신 하나님만 믿었던 강한 믿음의 소유자들이라고 생각한다.
그러나 때로는 은혜의 약속의 하나님을 놓치고 은혜보다 행위 – 오직 그리스도를 통해서 얻어지는 의가 아
니라 자신의 행위로 얻어지는 의에 빠져든 것이다(이것은 내가 한국에 있을 때 본 몇몇 교회에 해당한 것이
지만). 나는 매일 생활에서 하나님의 영광을 잊어버리지 않고(고전10:31) 하나님의 사랑과 하나님의 일에
초점을 맞추며 살아야 한다고 생각한다. 정말 그렇다. 죄를 버리고 하나님의 온전하심만 바라보는 것은 정
말 훌륭한 일이라고 생각한다.
사뭇 긴 이야기가 되었지만, 제 간증에 대하여 흥미를 가지시고 더 듣기 원하시면 알려주신다면 기꺼이 함
께 나누고 싶습니다.
1. The Korean Church
The first part of the trip in Daejeon (대전) was interesting. It was really cool seeing our really diverse team
come together with a lot of different walks of life from missionaries to college students to seminary pro-
fessors. However, there were also a lot of difficulties during this week from difficult communication and
different goals between our team and the Korean side that was hosting the camp. Despite all these things,
it was amazing to see how God faithfully made the camp work out and I think God taught me a lot about
simply being flexible and trusting in/praying for His Sovereignty over all things.
A part of the difficulties we had was different plans or approaches to the camp. On a side note, a struggle
I had a lot throughout this summer was judging the Korean church as legalistic, and I had time to think
about this more during the trip. I think some of my critical heart came from culture shock of how the
Korean church is a bit different, but also being able to talk about it with my team and pastors we did
recognize and were concerned for what we perceived as bad theology in the church at this camp. Some
of it was the way the charismatic worship was presented to the kids or sometimes messages that were a
bit unsettling, but I felt like some of this bad theology could be part of the reason of the declining church
in the younger generation of Korea. I’ve been reading through a really good theological book called The
Whole Christ, and also reading through Galatians this summer, God gave me deeper insight and wisdom
in how to pray for the Korean church. Every church in every nation has its problems and not all churches
in Korea have this specific problem, but it was good to be able to recognize it and be able to pray for this
going forward.
