My name is Ana Morris, a junior at UNC Chapel Hill. I was recently blessed with the opportunity to travel
alongside my team to Siem Reap, Cambodia, a place our church has been in partnership with for over 10
years. This was my second mission trip, my first one was to Mexico in 2018. Although hesitant to go to
another mission trip this year, God was continuously stirring my heart to witness His work and the works
of His followers in Cambodia.
Feelings of anxiety and uneasiness were no stranger to us during our mission trip, but God continued to
reassure us and give us peace. The plans that we made for the trip before arrival were nowhere near fol-
lowed but God showed me – it was okay. Through all the surprises, frustration, and worry, God used
every opportunity to use us for His ministry and show us His sovereignty and amazing love. Being able
to see how God could use someone like me to support Pastor Chanthon and Sienglai Samonim’s ministry
was a truly humbling experience.
The ministry and leaders in the Siem Reap church amazed me then and continue to amaze me even now.
Witnessing the way that Pastor Chanthon and Sienglai Samonim wholly devoted their life for God’s king-
dom and His people left me in awe. They are truly examples of what it is like to live a life not bound by this
world, but solely for His kingdom. Everything that they do, even their truck buying process, has so much
intent behind it – like how can this best benefit our ministry? I realized how important it is to take a step
back, even in my daily life, and really contemplate if what I’m doing is beneficial for His kingdom and if
I’m living a life that reflects His love for us. This is something I’m still wrestling with but am so blessed to
realize through my experience in Siem Reap.
Please keep the Siem Reap ministry in your prayers. Pray that God will continue to give strength to Pastor
Chanthon, Sienglai Samonim, and all the church leaders. Pray that God will use them as vessels for the
Holy Spirit so that they’ll continue to plant seeds in the hearts of the people of Siem Reap. Pray that the
Holy Spirit will work in the hearts of those who haven’t accepted Jesus yet.
Thank you.
