We dropped off kids from VBS whose parents decided
that they didn’t want to pick up their kids, and along the
way saw houses with lawns that were covered in liquor

This was the harsh reality and environment that these
children were exposed to. The worst part is, is that this
is what is considered normal to them. To us, normal is
waking up to a green lawn, and parents that nag to know
when to pick us up.

ello, I would like to start off with a quick introduction about myself. For those who do not know
me, my name is Aaron Paik and this summer, I was given
the opportunity to be able to serve short-term ministry
in Cambodia and South Korea, which also happens to be
my very first mission trip! Before I share my testimony, I
Seeing and experiencing this brings a lot of perspective in
the world that we live in. Yet through the opportunity to
serve, we were able to make a small, tiny impact in the
hearts of these kids. Trying to swallow and acknowledge
the fact that we won’t be able to make a huge impact, or

Without everyone’s prayer and support, our team would

being comfortable in our tiny puddle won’t do much in a
vast ocean. This was a nice reminder for the team. Hopefully we will be able to go back and serve these people
again. Until then, all we can do is pray and continue to
expose ourselves to a larger tank that’ll equip us and test

can vividly remember Pastor Park speaking to our congregation about Cambodia and sharing His experiences
with us. I was thrilled that an opportunity to serve God
opened up; however, I was scared. I was scared that I was
not spiritually mature enough to go, and even though I
felt that God wanted me to go I didn’t. Still, God did not
give up on me and presented me a second opportunity
this summer to go to Cambodia, and ultimately, I decided
to listen to Him and go. I was glad to listen to Him because during this mission trip, God has worked so much
in my life, and I am here today to share my experiences
with everyone.
First off, I would like to begin by talking about how I felt
