singing a ballad or a block solo (a song without a soloist)
is sit in a circle, all close our eyes, and sing the song
together. This always has a beautiful, almost healing
quality to it.
Ivy Education Group is hosting the Pitches’ first
ever China Tour! What are your thoughts about this
opportunity?
The Pitches are so grateful to the Ivy Education
Group for making this possible! We are so excited to
get to know students of all ages across the different
academies and explore Beijing, Xi’an, and Ningbo. One
particular excursion our members are looking forward
to is climbing the Great Wall of China with our friends,
the Krokodiloes!
How will your performance here in China be different
than your regular performances?
Our performances in China will not be all too different
from those back in Cambridge! We will bring the
same jazzy flair we do to every show, with snaps and
a cappella syllables galore. However, one exciting
difference is that we will be introducing Chinese music
into our concerts while we’re on tour!
The Radcliffe Pitches will also be performing with
the Harvard Krokodiloes for our Charity Concert!
What are your thoughts on this concert?
the Kroks and are looking forward to an exciting and
meaningful evening all around.
What can our audience members in Beijing, Xi’an
and Ningbo look forward to?
Audiences can look forward to energetic, high-caliber
performances, featuring a variety of songs across many
genres. Our repertoire ranges from timeless American
jazz standards to, most recently, Beyoncé. We promise
engaging shows for kids and adults alike, full of music,
dance, and fun. And -- who knows -- we may even try
our hand at singing in Chinese!
What are you looking most forward to with regards to
your China Tour?
Not many of us have been to China before, so we are so
looking forward to enjoying the sights, food, music, and
culture, of course! However, I think we are most excited
to meet the students and sing for (and, sometimes,
with!) them. The chance to talk with students and
share our experiences will certainly be a highlight and
one of the most rewarding facets of the tour.
Any final thoughts?
Sending endless thanks Ivy Education Group for this
unparalleled opportunity; we are so excited to sing for
you soon!
We feel so fortunate and honored to perform at this
charity concert with the Krokodiloes. The charities the
concert is supporting -- Dew Drop Little Flowers and
Educating Girls of Rural China -- are such impactive
organizations, and we could not be more excited to
be singing on their behalf! We love to perform with
