NUS TLS Trust Fund
சிங்கப்பூர்த் தேசிய பல்கலைக்கழகத் தமிழ்ப் பேரவை
இந்திய சமூகத்திலுள்ள அனைத்து வயதினருக்கும் உதவ
வேண்டும் என்று நம்புகின்றது என்பதில் எள்ளளவும்
ஐயமில்லை. வசதிக் குறைந்த NUS இந்திய மாணவர்கள்
தங்கள் படிப்பை மென்மேலும் சீராகத் தொடர, தமிழ்ப்
பேரவை கல்வி நிதியுதவித் திட்டம் ஒன்றை 1999ம்
ஆண்டு தொடங்கியது. இதுவரை $2000 வட்டியில்லா
கடன்

பெற்ற
பத்துக்கும்
மேற்பட்ட
மாணவர்களுக்கும் இத்திட்டம் பேருதவியாக இருந்து
வந்துள்ளது. $30,000 வெள்ளியை முதலாகப் போட்டுத்
தொடங்கிய இத்திட்டத்திற்கான நிதி சேகரிப்பு "சங்கே
முழங்கு" நிகழ்ச்சியின் மூலம்தான் பெறப்பட்டது என்பது
குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.

செலவுத்தொகை உயர்ந்து வரும் நிலையில் எங்களால்
இயன்றவரை பல உதவிகளைச் செய்து கொண்டு
வருகிறோம். அவற்றுள் இந்நிதியுதவித் திட்டமும் ஒன்று.
நாளைய தலைமுறையினரை நல்ல கல்வித்திறனுடன்
வளர்க்கத் தமிழ்ப் பேரவை செய்துவரும் இத்தொண்டு
உறுதியாகப் பன்மடங்கு வளரும் என நம்புகிறோம்.
NUS Tamil Language Society’s (NUS TLS) attempt in
reaching out to the community is further manifested
through its efforts in providing interest-free loans
through the NUS TLS Trust Fund to needy Indian
undergraduates who are currently pursuing degree
courses in the National University of Singapore. Since its
inception in 1999, NUS TLS Trust Fund, administered by
Singapore Indian Education Trust (SIET), has supported
more than 10 needy Indian undergraduates.
The interest-free loan of $2000 has surely made
a difference to those undergraduates’ tertiary education.
It is notable that replenishing the trust fund is highly
facilitated through the proceeds that the society receives

from its biennial production, Sangae Muzhangu.
With the cost of tertiary education rising over the years,
NUS Tamil Language Society hopes to alleviate these
costs, to a small extent, by providing these interest-free
loans to needy Indian undergraduates so that they may
experience a smoother journey in their varsity experience.
This initiative allows the society to hold steadfast its
objective of reaching out to all borders of the community.
NUS Tamil Language Society sincerely hopes to continue
this small gesture in the years to come in order to help as
many Indian undergraduates as possible.
