Turkish symmetrical knot , so-called Gördes , is named after this city . Carpets of the XVII-XVIII centuries had the image of an imposing mihrab with a lamp hanging in the centre and straight columns . Two rectangles at the base of the niche and above it were decorated with floral ornaments . A similar motif was on the wide border . The range of shades is wide , from ivory and green to blue , light blue and red .

Rare examples of the XIX century carpets are an interpretation of the composition of prayer carpets . The field is divided into two , sometimes into three vertical red or blue stripes on a background . Niches are separated from each other by columns and each separate part ends at the top with a pointed arch . Colours are yellow , blue red , ivory .
