What other products do you use , how long does it take to clean ? - Obtaining a certificate means you have scientific knowledge , experience and passion for work . We combine these qualities to move forward .
As for the process , it starts with a general viewing , checking the carpet . Photographs are taken , and dust is removed . Pressure washing is carried out , followed by shampooing and selection of enzymes . The next steps are rinsing , drying and finally quality control . In many cases , we do additional work in some areas , removing spots , adjusting the colour , etc . This takes about 1-2 weeks . Other companies and our colleagues do their work in shorter time . We do not do this ; we have strict rules , protocols which we follow .
►Tell our readers the main rules for caring handmade carpets . - Carpets need to be vacuumed regularly once a week or even more often , depending on use . They should be given to cleaning specialized companies , instead of doing it at home . Carpets should be aired at least once a year . This means that we have to change their direction by 180 degrees to protect the colour .
►You often give lectures about oriental carpets in museums , universities , professional conferences . How has this aspect of your activity changed due to the pandemic ? - Yes , a lot has changed . But we are trying to be online and on social networks .
►What do you love most about your job ? - It is that I work with works of art which have fascinating stories . I also love the element of surprise . You never know who has come to you and with what exactly .
►What kind of carpet would you like to see or purchase ? - I would like to own a 400-year-old Safavid carpet , for example , Polonaise .
