Regional Studies Vladimir Norov
Dear Mr. Annen,
Dear Ms. Kiefer,
Ladies and gentlemen!
First of all, let me sincerely welcome all participants of the round table "Uzbekistan and
Germany: cooperation in the field of security and sustainable development in Central Asia" on
behalf of the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies under the President of the Republic of
Uzbekistan.
I would like to express special gratitude to the State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign
Affairs of Germany Mr. Niels Annen, for participating in this event and to Regional Director of
the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung Ms. Henriette Kiefer for assistance in organizing this round table.
ISRS has a positive experience of cooperation with the Ebert Foundation. I also wanted to
thank the representatives of the diplomatic corps, ministries and departments of Uzbekistan
for their participation in our event.
