security, rational and integrated use of water and energy resources in Central Asia, mitigating
the environmental and socio-economic consequences of the drying up of the Aral Sea, creating
a modern transport and transit system in the region, deepening ties in the fields of education,
science, technology, innovation, tourism, culture, art and sports. In this regard, the efforts of
states to promote the peace process and social and economic development in Afghanistan in
ensuring security and sustainable development in the region is also so important.
In addition, during the visit of a government delegation led by Prime Minister Abdulla
Aripov to Munich (from 14 to 17 November 2017), two sides held a number of negotiations
with the leadership of the federal state of Bavaria and representatives of business circles, as
well as three meetings of the Uzbek-German business Council, which resulted in a Resolution
of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the further expansion of bilateral cooperation
between Uzbekistan and Germany. It should be emphasized that to-date 123 enterprises
operate in Uzbekistan with the participation of investors from Germany, including 26
enterprises with 100% foreign capital. In addition, Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations,
Investments and Trade accredited representative offices of 33 German firms and companies.

Company”, construction materials with
the “Knauf Company”, cable and wiring
products by the “Deutsche Cable
Company”, etc.
At the same time, representative offices of the Institute of Goethe,
K.Adenauer and F.Ebert Foundations, Institute of International Cooperation of the German
Association of Peoples' Universities (IIZ / DVV), Office of the Special Adviser / Coordinator for
the German Language of the Central Office of Schools Abroad and the German Society for
International Cooperation (GIZ), in particular, the German Association for Technical Cooperation
(GTZ) have been supporting the creation of new framework conditions and the implementation
of legal reforms in the countries of Central Asia since 1995.
It should be noted that the German IRZ Foundation under the Federal Ministry of Justice
of Germany and the German Agency GIZ, with which we have long-term and close relations, has
a leading place in the implementation of EU projects in the field of judicial and legal reforms in
Uzbekistan.
To-date, in Uzbekistan over 377 thousand students of 1842 schools, including about 5
thousand - in three special schools in Tashkent, Samarkand and Margilan which give a German
Language Diploma (DSD), are learning German, as well as, 4443 teachers teach this
language.
