Germany on this direction is far from being revealed. In order to fully utilize the entire available
reserve, it is important to implement joint measures to enhance cooperation in all areas of
mutual interest.
Firstly, we have huge resources and reserves for deepening and expanding cooperation
in the field of trade, economy, finance, investment and tourism. The most important priority for
the countries of Central Asia is to attract German investments, advanced technologies and
knowledge for the process of modernization of the economies of the region and their transition
to an innovative development model.
Secondly, the growing trend of strengthening regional cooperation in Central Asia offers
unprecedented opportunities for the development of multifaceted interaction of the countries
of the region with Germany. It should be noted that, the sides created favorable conditions for
the implementation of major projects in construction of transport, logistics and energy
infrastructure.
Thirdly, Germany and Central Asian countries have a similar understanding of the
threats and challenges to the regional security.
Taking this opportunity, I want to express my sincere appreciation for the fact that
Germany co-sponsored the resolution of the UN General Assembly on the initiative of
Uzbekistan on strengthening regional and international peace and stability in Central Asia.
(Adopted on June 22 of this year)
We also count the support of our initiatives to adopt a special resolution of the UN
General Assembly on education and religious tolerance, as well as international conventions on
the rights of young people. Moreover, our interests in the fight against terrorism and
radicalization are common. And the main task is to fight for the minds of people, especially the
youth.
Fourth, within the framework of deepening the democratization of society and the
formation civil society, we are interested in continuing to study and implement the experience
of Germany in the field of ensuring the rule of law, law enforcement practice, enhancing the
role and importance of party factions in parliament, strengthening parliamentary control over
the activities of executive bodies and the implementation of laws.
Fifth, the growing international influence of Germany helps to strengthen the interaction
of our countries in the international area.
Taking into account the leading position of Germany in the development and
implementation of a common European foreign and security policy, Uzbekistan is open to
continue pragmatic and mutually beneficial cooperation with the European Union, particularly
the implementation of the new EU Strategy for Central Asia.
Sixth, the gained experience of cooperation in the cultural and educational sphere
creates opportunities for the implementation of projects in the opening branches of higher
educational institutions of Germany. Branches of a number of leading world universities have
been created and are being created in Uzbekistan, but there is no German university. Back to
the 30s of the last century, many Uzbeks studied in Germany, and we could restore those good
traditions in new conditions. The implementation of joint educational projects to train Afghan
specialists in various fields also has favorable prospects.
