SERCONS LLC, a Russian Certification Body, is a full
service company that is made up of a group of
subsidiaries that are accredited bodies in various fields
of certification under the technical regulations of the
Customs Union, Industrial Safety, Special Assessment
of Working Conditions, and Labor Protection.
The company owns unique laboratories, departments for
technical documentation, expertise of industrial and
fire safety, and has its own training center. SERCONS
LLC also provides a full range of services for the
verification of measuring instruments, implementation
of newly constructed plants and equipment, and the
certification of quality management systems.

nical means for product testing, and
it employs more than 1,400 experts,
many of them have academic degrees
in their field, many years of work ex-
perience within various entities of the
Ministry of Industry and Energy of the
Russian Federation. In addition to our

Achievements
SERСONS LLC has a unique testing center, PromMash Test, which is peerless in Russia. The center conducts
product testing for compliance with requirements of more than 12 technical regulations of the Eurasian
Economic Union. The huge campus of modern equipment (more than 300 units, including a number of one-
of-a-kind installations) and technical equipment for product testing allow for a wide variety of tests that
gives it the ability to offer all services, including customized options – both for confirming the compliance/
certification by executing protocols for all types of products and for research purposes.

NEWTON THERMAL MANIKIN
The Newton Technical Complex is a thermal manikin made of unique
heat conductive material. The complex is equipped with a hardware
system and has 24 separate zones of constant monitoring of tem-
peratures. The main purpose of the complex is to test the protective
properties of clothing and gear (personal protective equipment) un-
der extreme conditions. The robot is located in a thermal chamber
capable of reproducing any climatic zone of the Russian Federation
by setting the temperature from –20 to +80 degrees Celsius. As part
of a dynamic support system, the thermal manikin simulates hu-
man movements (walking and running of varying intensity), has its
own constant “skin” surface temperature (from 33 to 37 degrees)
and even sweats. There are only seven similar complexes in Europe.
CHAIN SAW
SERCONS LLC has the only installation for the testing of du-
rability of work clothes, shoes and gloves when working with
a chain saw in Russia. At a certain distance from a provided
sample, one installs a saw bar with a specified speed of rotation
of the chain – from 25 to 33 thousand revolutions. After switch-
ing off the power supply of the saw drive, the bar with the chain
is lowered onto the sample in free fall. The purpose of the test is
to determine how far the saw goes through the material before
it stopping and the result to the sample. It can either be wound
around the saw, sawn through, or have other damages, which determines the protective properties of the
fabric. During the test, the free fall of the chain saw is done intentionally – after all, an operator might
put the saw down without waiting for it to be completely off, possibly causing a serious injury. This type
of PPE test is conducted to minimize the consequences of negligence at the workplace.
DVT SKY SHOE THERMAL INSULATION TESTER
This device is designed to determine the heat-insulating properties of
shoes when exposed to various negative temperatures. A sample of shoes
with a sensor installed on the insole is placed in a thermal container for a
certain period of time, and then the temperature of the insole is measured.
In this case, the temperature on the surface of the insole is adjusted to
a constant value of +23 ± 2 °C for three hours. The temperature in the
thermal container for the period of the test is set within the range of
–17 ±2 °C. The measuring device is connected to temperature sensors,
while the temperature change over time is measured.
In addition to this installation, there is a device that allows reducing the
temperature to –80 degrees with liquid nitrogen.
