ARTHUR LUTSKER « A STORY WRITTEN BY ASTEROIDS »
“ Know then the Greatest Secret of Universe : As above , so below , as within , so without , as the Universe , so the Soul ,” Hermes Trismegistus said a long time ago . Astrologers use this principle in the senses of microcosm and macrocosm . The microcosm is oneself , and the macrocosm is the universe . The macrocosm is as the microcosm , and vice versa ; through observing and understanding one you can understand and interpret the other . It is one of the main principles that explains why astrology works . And , interestingly enough , it works well not only for large cosmic objects such as stars and planets , but also for relatively small objects such as asteroids .
When I was born the asteroid # 1154 ,“ Astronomia ” was in exact conjunction with my Sun in the 10 th house of career . This asteroid was discovered in February 1927 at Heidelberg by Reinmuth and it is connected to astronomy and astrology as a profession , the laws of the movement of celestial bodies , and of the Cosmos as a whole . My astrological foundation started with astronomy , telescopes , observatories , etc . In 1980 I participatedin the « Young astronomers » conference . At this time transiting asteroid “ Astronomia ” was in my 10th house of career . When I started to work as a professional astrologer about twenty years ago , transiting “ Astronomia ” was in my 10th house again , anddirected / progressedMidheaven made an exact conjunction with the “ Astronomia ” in my 10 th house . In 1998 I went to an astrological conference in Moscow . Theasteroid “ Moscow ” was in my 4th house of home . For the time of the conference Moscow became my home .
I started to study astrology when I lived in Kiev , Ukraine . Although I wasn ’ t born there I always loved this city . Maybe it ’ s because at the time of my birth asteroid # 2171 Kiev was in exact conjunction with my Ascendant .
In 1999 I immigrated to the USA . When I became an American citizen the asteroid # 916 “ America ” was in the 4 th house of my relocation chart ( and it was in the 4 th house of my natal chart in the moment I was born ).
But let ’ s go back to 1999 . On October 21st 1999 I had a small car incident . Transits of all major planets were extremely beneficial . Moreover , transiting Jupiter was making a trine with my natal Jupiter ! But … the asteroid # 3849 Incidentia that is responsible for incidents , accidents and wrecks was in opposition to my Moon / Saturn natal conjunction ( the exact midpoint !). The Moon rules my 3 rd house of transportation and Saturn rules my 8 th house of accidents . Asteroid # 19 Fortuna was in exact conjunction with my Moon ’ s South Node . I left my driver ’ s license at home and could have been in serious trouble . But apparently trinefrom transiting Jupiter ’ s helped me avoiding it .
In April 2001 I started to work in the One World Trade Center as a software developer . Asteroid # 19 Fortuna was in my 10th house of career at this time .
On September 11th 2001 the asteroid “ America ” was in conjunction with my Moon ’ s South Node ( Dragon ’ s tail in Hindu Astrology ) and the asteroid # 3849 “ Incidentia ” made an exact conjunction with my natal Chiron . Transiting “ Fortuna ” was in two degrees from the “ death axis ” in my natal chart . I was lucky again and saw how the second plane crashed in the tower where I used to work from the window of the express bus when we approachedthe Battery Tunnel .
The asteroid # 3200 Phaethon ( Phaeton obtained his father ' s promise to drive the sun chariot , failed to control it , crashed and burned to Earth ) was in exact conjunction with my Ascendant and in the exact square ( with only a 4 minute orb ) to the Sun in the chart of the event ( see below ). The asteroid # 2138 Swiss Air ( the only asteroid named for an airline ) was also in exact conjunction with my Ascendant , but from another side . Both asteroids were in the 9 th house in the chart of the event casted for New York .
Asteroid # 1566 Icarus was also in conjunction with the “ Dragon ’ s tail ” in the chart of the event . Icarus at its perihelion comes closer tothe Sun than Mercury and was named after Icarus of Greek mythology , who flew too close to the Sun and crashed .

Asteroid # 26 Proserpina was in conjunction with my natal Mercury and Midheaven and in opposition to Venus in the chart of the event . As you can see from the chart Venus is the lord of the first house and also a ruler of the 8 th ( house of death ). I would like to remind you that Proserpina was the Queen of the Underworld and that many people died under debris after the Twin Towers collapsed .
The asteroid # 588 Achilles was in exact conjunction with the Sun of the event , showing the Achilles tendon of the “ intelligence failure ”. The asteroid # 1170 – Siva ( Hindu god of death destruction ) was in exact conjunction with my Moon ’ s North Node ( Dragon ’ s head in Hindu astrology ). The asteroid # 55 “ Pandora ” ( remember a large jar given to Pandora , which contained all the evils of the world ?) was in conjunction with the Midheaveansoon after the first crash . In my chart this asteroid made an exact square to the Moon ’ s nodes and square to the Moon , ruler of my 2 nd house . The opened Pandora ’ s Boxcame into my life in a form of a long time unemployment and financial troubles .
But even being an astrologer I ’ m still not quite sure that the conjunction of the asteroid # 227 “ Philosophia ” with my natal Ascendant within only 4 minutes of arc was the only factor that helped me to accept this philosophically . ■
