but let us listen to the sentence from it first (ex.1a.) What is the dialogue about? Then read the
dialogue please (ex. 2, p. 52) and try toimagine that one of you is Ryan and the other is Dad. You
may change the names if you want. Dramatize the dialogue. You have 4 min.

H.O.1. The British live in flats but a lot of people have their own houses. There are different
kinds of homes in Britain: detached houses, semi-detached houses, block of flats, terraced houses,
bungalows.
The traditional English house has two floors: the ground floor and the first floor. The sitting
or living room, the dining room and the study are downstairs. The kitchen and the hall are
downstairs too. There are two or three bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs.
The living room is usually the largest room in the house. There is always a sofa, some chairs
and armchairs in it. There is often a carpet on the floor. There is usually a fireplace in the living
room.
