От 5 до 10 % пациентов с глаукомой сообщают об использовании дополнительной и альтернативной медикаментозной терапии специально для лечения глаукомы [ 27 ], но почти две трети этих пациентов не говорят об этом своему врачу-офтальмологу [ 34 ]. Возможно , это должно быть целевой линией опроса во время сбора анамнеза и симптомов . Тем не менее вполне вероятно , что многие практикующие врачи воздержатся от обсуждения адъювантной терапии глаукомы из-за отсутствия надежных доказательств на данный момент . Пациенты заслуживают того , чтобы их информировали о доступных вариантах , даже если они не покрываются фондом медицинского страхования и оплачиваются из их собственных средств . В связи с проведением крупномасштабных исследований важно , чтобы практикующие врачи были в курсе новых разработок для обеспечения наилучшего лечения своим пациентам .
