SUMMARY
The project “Updating the national database “CORINE land
cover 2012” as part of the European project CLC 2012,
aims the creation of a pan-European land cover/land use
map using an unified nomenclature of the classes by
means of interpretation of satellite images and also creating
an unified and harmonized digital data base of land cover
and land cover changes.
The paper presents the possibilities of the computer
interpretation and analysis of multitemporal images by
the methodology of the project for detecting some specific
changes in the forest territories. An analysis and a field
checking are performed and the compliance of the land
cover changes with the existing regulations in Bulgaria is
assessed.
