Haidari estate and its buildings (Palataki Tower, Guest Houses,
Church of St George etc), a place where important architects, painters
and sculptors created their works of art. Ernst Ziller, Nikiphoros Lytras,
Nikolaos Ghyzis, Kostas Parthenis, Thomas Thomopoulos have
created buildings and works that are in our days significant landmarks.
At the same time they contributed to the fictional and poetic character
of western Athens landscape with texts, especially letters, like the one
from Ghyzis to Nazos in 1879, where he describes Haidari, Daphni and
Koumoundourou Lake as “desirable places”.
