Εσωτερικά ο ναός ήταν χωρισμένος
σε δύο μέρη.
Το ανατολικό μέρος προς την
πρόσοψη ήταν της Αθηνάς, το άλλο
του Ποσειδώνα.
Στο ιερό της Αθηνάς βρισκόταν το
ξόανό της, ένα άγαλμά της
δηλαδή κατασκευασμένο από ξύλο
ελιάς,
για το οποίο πίστευαν ότι είχε
πέσει από τον ουρανό.
