15 I was left alone on the ship and at the dawn I found myself back at the narrow passage of Skylla and Charybdis. But it was not meant to escape from the latter. Charybdis swallowed great amount of sea water and everything that floated. I managed to hold on from a fig tree, that grew at the cave’s opening where the monster was hiding. After a while Charybdis threw up parts of my ship and I used them to escape. Thankfully Zeus didn’t want me to meet Skylla again, that was at the other side of the passage and I was saved from death.
